Perhaps you prefer your ocean adventures atop the water. Sea Thru Kayaks VI was created by a man whose love for the ocean and the island he calls home led him to purchase the well-established business in 2022. That passion can be felt in every adventure, including the popular Bioluminescent Bay Kayak Tour. Experience the wonders of this natural phenomenon, one of seven bioluminescent bays in the world, in a 45-tour nighttime tour in which every underwater sparkle can be seen through your clear kayak.

Parasail Virgin Islands

Then there’s the option of seeing St. Croix’s turquoise ocean waters and surrounding beauty from above. Parasail Virgin Islands lets you get a bird’s-eye view during their one-hour, sky-high adventure from its vessel designed specifically for parasailing. After getting picked up from the Christiansted Boardwalk, you and your partner(s) — tandem and triple flights are available — will get a detailed briefing before taking off up to 500 feet in the air. Memories don’t come any higher (literally) than this.

Crucian Adventure Divers

The Caribbean offers a myriad of marine life for snorkelers and divers to experience. St. Croix is no exception, with its steep shoreline drop-offs making it a cut above the rest. Created by four distinguished diving professionals, Crucian Adventure Divers is your one-stop shop for gear rentals, guided tours and scuba instruction. Specializing in small-group diving for certified divers, Crucian Adventure Divers offers both day and nighttime experiences. Various courses are available, including a basic diver try out.

Captain Cook Charters

For some, ocean adventure means just one thing: fishing. Anglers visiting St. Croix won’t be disappointed, with an abundance of tuna, wahoo, mahi mahi and marlin within reach. Captain Cook Charters specializes in creating world-class sport fishing experiences, as well as sunset and adventure trips. A variety of sport fishing charters are available, ranging from four to 10 hours, with complementary fish-cleaning services included. Your adventure takes place on a 33-foot-long sport fishing boat (called the Hook ‘n’ Cook), where an experienced father-son duo leads you and up to five mates to all the secret fishing spots.

Gecko’s Island Adventures

For more than 15 years, family-owned Gecko’s Island Adventures has made sharing the natural beauty of St. Croix its purpose, offering several tours that highlight the island’s history, culture and breathtaking landscape. Its signature two-hour guided Original ATV Tour covers some 15 miles of lush tropical terrain. After meeting at their Frederiksted office, you’ll make your way to the top of Mt. Stewart and its panoramic views. Stops along the way range from a plantation ruin from the 1700s to a subtropical rainforest. Designed to accommodate two riders, the ATVs are easy to operate, equipped with automatic transmission.

Equus Rides

Horseback riding has plenty of charm on its own, but combine it with awe-inspiring scenery and enthusiastic guides and it becomes a not-to-be-missed St. Croix experience. For more than 25 years, Equus Rides has been doing just that with its horseback tours. After you saddle up on your gentle horse, Stephen “Cowboy Steve” O’Dea and his experienced team will lead you along the island’s North Shore through Danish ruins, along the beach and into the sea on your horse. Carambola Zip Line

Looking to truly immerse yourself in St. Croix nature? With its treetop canopy tour through the rainforest, Carambola Zip Line offers an unforgettable experience. The adventure begins with a 30-minute Safari Bus ride to the top of the island. From there, you’ll have access to three ziplines of various heights and lengths, including the Gauntlet, which is just over one-half mile long and soars more than 200 feet above the Carambola Valley. End your adventure at the site of 200-year-old ruins, where snapping your photo at the historic sugar mill is a must.

BushTribe Eco Adventures

With a knack for getting locals and travelers off the beaten path, BushTribe Eco Adventures focuses on kayaking, hiking and snorkeling during its St. Croix adventures. Crucian Heritage & Nature Tourism (CHANT)

A charming waterfront village on the western end of St. Croix, Frederiksted has a rich history full of significant moments and monumental rebellions. Crucian Heritage & Nature Tourism (CHANT) offers one of the island’s most in-depth tours that showcases Frederiksted to its fullest. On the 2.5-hour Frederiksted Walking Tour that wanders from Strand to King Cross streets, you’ll learn about Fort Frederik, the site of the local Emancipation Revolt, as well as stories behind the families who lived in the historic Victorian townhomes.
